What is a DISC ADVANCED® assessment?

DISC is a four-quadrant model that’s been around since 1920 and it has become the worlds most popular behavioural assessment tool.

It describes the different types of behaviours we all exhibit in the workplace based on the pace at which we typically operate and how we prioritise, people or task.

The four-quadrants represent different styles and most people have a mix.

D – Dominance

I – Influence

S – Steadiness

C – Compliance

The behaviours in all styles have benefits and challenges.

Of course, the model has come a long way since the 1920s.

DISC Profiles Australia are the only Australian owned DISC publisher and they have built the DISC ADVANCED® assessment tool which goes much further than traditional DISC because it identifies more styles.

And there’s a special version for leaders.

It will give you an insight into which of the behaviours you tend to exhibit more often and the combination of traits that makes up your unique style.

It also gives you an understanding of how to recognise and adjust your natural behaviours to lead others more effectively.

How does it work?

Here’s how it works.

  1. We will send you a short video to watch to introduce the DISC ADVANCED® model
  2. Once you’ve watched the video, we will send you a link to the DISC ADVANCED® assessment tool. It’s an online questionnaire that takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers. To get the most out of the results, we ask you to think about yourself at work when you’re completing the questionnaire and to answer the questions honestly.
  3. Book a 45-minute debrief session with Melissa McCarney over Zoom
  4. Melissa will provide you with a copy of your detailed report on the day of your debrief session and she’ll help you come up with an action plan.

How much does it cost?

Completing your individual DISC ADVANCED® Leadership assessment costs $249. This includes:

  • access to the questionnaire and a comprehensive 38-page report which includes a summary of:
    • your DISC profile and the general characteristics of your individual style
    • behavioural insights and motivators
    • strengths and potential development areas
    • possible reaction modes based on your style eg. how you may appear when you’re under pressure
    • suggest ways people could communicate with you (great to share with your team and your boss)
    • how to identify the styles of others and how to adjust your leadership style accordingly
  • A 45-minute one-on-one debrief session with Melissa McCarney, founder of Better Bosses and an accredited DISC ADVANCED® consultant. Melissa will help you interpret the report, pull out the important insights and create a development plan
